Description
On the idyllic Achterlaan in Zunderdorp lies this villa with an unobstructed view to both the front and the back!
Zunderdorp (formerly "Sundeldorp") is a village in Landelijk Noord in the Dutch municipality of Amsterdam (prov. North Holland). The village has a few dozen houses and some other buildings, including the church of Zunderdorp. Several houses are made of wood. The village has 463 inhabitants.
Originally Zunderdorp was the main village of the banne Sundeldorp/Sindeldorp. It was later outstripped by Nieuwendam, located on the IJ. Until 1921 the village was part of the municipality of Nieuwendam, which in that year merged into the municipality of Amsterdam. Sundels", the word from which the name Zunderdorp comes, were narrow canals, which flowed from the village to the IJ.*
The house is situated on a beautiful, child friendly (dead end) piece of land with only local traffic and surrounded by many meadows and water. With Amsterdam within cycling distance and all the peace and quiet of a village, the perfect combination.
Here you experience the village feeling and yet you are within 10 minutes to the A10 ring road, IJtunnel, the North/South metro line or the ferry to Central Station! Comfortable living in a rural setting and yet all the amenities of the city at your fingertips: that's living in Zunderdorp!
